The idea for the Iconic Trails Project came from looking for a new goal once a race had been run, but a goal that wasn't a race.
However, one of the things I noticed during training for YUM was how popular the group training runs were. Almost as much as the event itself. Likewise the runs for this weekend's Heysen 105 have been popular, too.
So what?
Well, first of all, I encourage others to get out and explore further on these great long distance trails we have. Yurrebilla hosts a great race, but the group run sections are manageable 'everyday' runs in their own right. The Heysen trail similarly supports such segmentation. So go forth; explore! The trails are waiting...
However, I also realise that some of the popularity is the fact that during these group runs, those unfamiliar with the trail are able to just 'follow along' with the group and not have to worry about the navigation and route finding. So with this in mind, I'm looking to put up dates for upcoming runs that I'm doing - feel free to come along and join in!
And so...
