For the last few weeks I've been heading over to Yorkes to help Fan and Zoe to get parkrun up and running at Edithburgh.
Saturday finally saw the launch... and it went great! With 73 folks coming along - a number coming over from Adelaide specifically for the launch was great to see - it bodes well for this smaller community.
With rellies over here at Yorkes, I'm personally excited that I'll "have something to do" when we come over :D in future! Knowing that Fan and I had conversations about this event well over a year - probably more than 15 months! - ago, I'm glad that its finally happend for her, too.
If you're heading over that way, go check it out - Start is near the Edithburgh tidal pool, as always, 7:45 for 8am start. And there is always the rest of the Walk the Yorkes trail to check out too - make for a grander adventure whilst you are at it!
And then... it was on to Port Broughton, for a trial of the parkrun course up there. A few folks stayed for the weekend and came up for that too. With a big chunk of the course being on the beach, on the days the tide is in and its soft sand all the way, this is going to be a challenging course! However, the upshot will be the dip in the sea after - a few welcomed it on Sunday to counter the warm weather, and I doubt they'll be the last.
Well, silly hot (40c/104F and over!) forecast for this coming weekend, not sure that much is going happen in this weather, running wise. Hopefully, less driving and less heat soon, and more trails, more distance and more vert can follow!
