As in, yet again, it's all got a bit waylaid and randomly updated. meh, whatever... it's not like anyone is actually reading it!
So since Jan? Wow, thats a long time to fill in. Short sharp and shiny then:
- Port Broughton parkrun launch was good; 4.5km-ish on the sand make for as easy or hard as you like. Love it, love something 'different'.
- 5 Peaks Ultra; weather was crap - wet and windy, the two parkrun launches did limit training a bit, so a bit undercooked, but for essentially the same course, plus a few climbs, albeit in reverse (probably the 'harder' direction... just) was faster than my YUM time in 2016. So that was nice.
- Lavendar-Federation trail has been completed; which opens it up to a whole through route etc. Pondering an FKT-esque attempt. As in, self-supported, end to end in one go, just cause it is there. May get the FKT for it, if I manage to do it before anyone else.
- TRSA Mt Misery; Love it. Favorite local series run. Not a great year (still a bit puffed as it was only a few weeks after 5 Peaks), but all good.
- Stepped down as parkrun ambassador; I know, didn't last long. but reality was that with family, Uni, work and then 6 parkruns to consider... just too much. Just focussing on Cleland - which turns one this weekend!
- Less events; Yep, back to projects, but also, although still 'training', trying to do it on my terms, rather than to race dates. Ties back to the family, uni, etc bit above. once a few pre-booked ones are done, not more than one event/'big' project per month is the idea.
- Cleland 50; ended up skipping due to the above reasons. Was quite close to 5 Peaks too, and Uni load was high during 'training' time.
- Fed UT 50km; this weekend! Was pre-planned, so sticking with it. Also, it's local, it's grassroots and it should be fun. Bit different with only 450m-ish vert over the course.
- Wonderland; 36km again, maybe a little side project whilst over in the Grampians. Not sure I'll repeat it next year, although it is an amazing race. Should be a good laugh though, share house with a heap of TRSA folk.
- New projects; well... no. just slightly more evolved and crystallised projects. See next post or two for more of that.
