Projects

Right, so, #iconictrailsproject is noted already, but it's time for a bit of addition to the list. A few years on, a few more ideas, not all of them are #iconictrails, although some are and some remain.

Peaks.

There are certain peaks that we all want to climb. Heaps are attracted to high peaks - 14ers in Colorado and the US, 7 Summits of the World, Mt Lofty as a starting point in ADL. They all count, depending on your level of ability, fitness, finance, choices, and a whole load of other reasons.

- Mt Lang. In the Southern Grampians, without a trail to the summit, stands Mount Yaranula, AKA Mount Lang. How can I not try to get to the top of this??

There are plenty of others too, but many are fairly obvious and will be done in due course. A quick summary;
- Dutchmans Stern
- St Marys Peak
- Mt Remarkable
- Mt Bogong
- Mt Feathertop
- Federation Peak
- Mt Ossa
- Mount Woodroffe
- Kosciuszko

Plenty of others, but these seems variously challenging, interesting or just 'should be done'.

Trails.

- Major Mitchell Plateau. Just over 40kms, and just under 2000m vert. Those numbers seem reasonable, however, it looks fairly trying under foot (loose and rocky, some scrambling) and with limited water refills. A mission! :D

- Larapinta. Probably look to do Run Larapinta to cover this. But the Red Centre fascinates me and being able to take a little more time by doing it over a few days, with support as a 'race' makes more sense for this one, to me. Maybe for my 40th?

"Other" projects.

Ahh, the interesting ones. The little anomalies that don't fit elsewhere. The quirks. Not PBs or that type of thing... more little things that excite me and keep it interesting.

- Everesting. Ok, I'm finally ready to put it out there. It's been in my head for about a year (as at July 2018), but I think I've read enough, researched enough and pondered enough to say I'm seriously thinking about it. I need to train a far old bit more though! However, in terms of having some sort of framework on which to build in order to make it viable... I think I have that. I've identified a climb. I've figured out basic logistics of that. Who exactly knows if or when it'll happen, but it is definitely in my head and hasn't gone away, which suggests that at some point, I will at least attempt it.
